I Was Found Innocent On Felony B.S. Charges
19 January 2009Last September of 2007 something happened to me that has never happened before. At 9:00 am, (6) San Antonio police officers surrounded my house at Rancho Montelongo. Not knowing why (6) police officers would be surrounding my house, I simply opened the door and let them in wondering what the hell was going on.
They told me I had been charged with a felony called “Theft of Service”.
At that time, I had lived for 37 years and had NEVER been arrested or in trouble with the law in my ENTIRE life. The officers handcuffed me and took me down to the city jail where I now found out is where most of the idiots in San Antonio hang out.
The officers were very nice and we actually had a friendly conversation on the way to the station. They said “You are much friendly in person than on television.” I said, “That’s because your not a contractor”. LOL
Once there, several of my new “roomies” were asking me about what “I did” to be in jail and I asked them politely to shut the F&*K up, as I am not a criminal.
The jail was soon abuzz and a judge who is a fan of the show came to the cell and told me he would have me out ASAP and these charges are BS. I thank that judge for getting me out of the San Antonio sewage system as quickly as possible.
WHAT IS THEFT OF SERVICE?
Theft of Service is a charge for people who intentionally order service and never have the intent to pay. This means someone would ask a landscaper to do work and know ahead of time that they were going to stiff the guy and never pay him.
WHY WAS I CHARGED?
A woman by the name of (who honestly cares) has a real estate appraisal service in Austin, Texas. She claimed that my company ordered several appraisals from her and didn’t pay. She sent the bill and I disputed it because I DID NOT ORDER THE APPRAISALS. In fact, some of the appraisals she was attempting to charge me for were for properties THAT WERE NOT MINE!
This is called a civil dispute since it is over a business matter. She sent me a threat letter from a civil attorney and I again disputed that I did not order these appraisals. The civil attorney immediately backed off since this is a case he could NOT win.
In my opinion, she now decided that since a civil attorney would not take a case that they would LOSE, that she would go the way of attempting to use the police department to act as a bill collector for her.
The problem with this is that THESE WERE NOT MY BILLS. This appraiser made the comment to a mutual business associate that she had a friend in the Austin legal system and that she was going to “make me pay one way or another and have me arrested for Theft of Service”. I find it VERY INTERESTING that I do not live in Austin, my business is not in Austin and these properties were not located in Austin, yet she chose to file a case in Austin where she stated she had a friend in the Austin legal system.
I called my attorney and he said, “Though these bills are not yours, pay the invoice since a “friend in the legal system” may not be told the whole truth by the complaining party.
I wrote a check for the amount of the appraisals as per my attorney’s advice and he contacted her to give her the check. At this point she refused the check and eventually refused to take any more of his phone calls.
IN MY OPINION, she didn’t want to take the money because she was looking for revenge, notoriety from the media or attention for her small business or smaller ego. Soon the National Enquirer came knocking and did a story about this Theft of Service charge as well as most major newspapers around the country.
I must say they used a very nice picture and spelled my name right…LOL, but my concern is about my students and fans who would believe the defamation and slander B.S. this woman was selling.
THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE
I must say, once the appraiser’s friend was out of the way, the District Attorney’s office in Austin, Texas did a very good job of investigating the FACTS of this woman’s slander. Upon a full investigation, the District Attorney found NO MERIT for this woman’s accusations and DISMISSED THE CASE!
I am happy the case has been dismissed and justice served. The funny thing is I never lost a night’s sleep over this. Perhaps it is because the past challenges of my life “toughened me up” or maybe it was the fact that I thought the accusations to be a joke and the case BS!
Whatever the case, IT IS NOW TIME FOR ME TO BRING WAR ON THIS WOMAN!
WHAT WILL I DO NOW?
Now that I have been cleared, I must look at the damage this woman caused. She slandered my name across a national scale.
Believe it or not I can be a patient and tolerant man. However, she tried to take me away from my son Mondoman and send me to prison for two years (that is the maximum penalty for Theft of Service). The thought of her (over a $4,000 appraisal bill that was not mine) attempting to take me away from my 9 year old boy, when it is my responsibility as a father to raise him, BOILS MY BLOOD!
I will have NO MERCY as I file a Slander and Libel suit against her. I will also file such suite against her advisors as well! There is a time to rest and a time to fight. Now, after justice has been served, my enemies will remember me for the rest of their lives as I am about to launch the greatest war with the BEST lawyers in seeking compensation for the damages this woman caused. Many of the damages will be reserved for the court of law and for the lawyers to hash out.
WHY I HAVE WRITTEN THIS
I have chosen to write about this because you as a student, fan or friend have sent thousands of concerned emails. I do not want you to be mislead away from your success or for anyone through selfish reasons to create an excuse to stop your succcess. Now is the most critical time and GREATEST OPPORTUNITY in American History to create success and I will not allow such selfish people who want to crush YOUR DREAMS stand in the way of your destiny!!!
Just as this lie existed, I will be addressing another big lie out there very soon (and this one I am even more excited about)!

I say go after her… she deserves it if she is going to falsely accuse someone. You are a father and a husband and to attempt to have you taken away from your beautiful wife and your wonderful 9 year old son for something that you did not do, that is just evil. She must just hate you and knew that you would never pay since it wasnt your bill and just wanted to ruin your name! She must have some sort of resentment because you have made a name for yourself and she hasn’t. I don’t know the reason but she was very malicious. She needs to know that she can’t do this to people and families. You were not the only one affected by this, your family was also and she needs to pay for bringing this upon you and your family. it seems there are alot of crooked people in austin. I was scamed out of 135k by an austin realtor and the texas real estate commision just said oh well that happens alot here. the austin fbi said ‘we dont have the manpower to look into it.
so this same man scamed some elderly people out of 100k and he is still out doing it some more.

I am a father with a son your age, and I can identify with your situation. My advice to him (and you) would be to not involve yourself further in this fiasco and to move forward with positive pursuits. Bitterness, revenge, anger…..they are all enemies of any soulful person. To embroil yourself in this “gutter” brawl is to reduce yourself to her level. Move on and learn from it. You’ll be a better person, man, father, and husband for it.

How about the many times service is ordered and not delivered or not delivered on time?
Late service or incorrect service can cost more than a mere $4,000.00.
Although I sympathize with you with the legal problem, you need to think about the return on your investment in time and in dollars. I feel it would be best that you use your time and funds to continue to run your business.
If you can send her a bill for your time, your lawyers’ time, your staff for handling the mess, etc. and that should deter her from ever sending out a bad bill again.
Of course consult your legal advisor before taking any type of action. Preventing another legal battle is always cheaper than fighting one.
Keep going, every successful business person has to.

Armando. When I first wanted to learn from you I went on the internet and googled search your Name. Yes, I found so many negative letters and Hatters out there about you. Some from saying Armando’s family is very wealthy and they realy had Doubt you went to flat broke on your last dollar living in a gorage etc. to How some one grew up around you and you always had money, Your Family always had Money and how you are a bully and you where a MoMMAS Boy etc. Along with a Cell phone number listed to contact you on for anybody out there who would like to tell you off. I do believe in total justice, but there’s also something called “forgiveness”. (please read on)
Your name has been cleared by the court, online and in the newspapers. You’ve been cleared of any wrongdoings.
You’ve been broke, and turned it around to become an extremely successful business person, father and husband! You’ve build a great reputation and wealth! Right now, you’re on the top of the world. .
This woman probably does not have a very good business, she probably doesn’t have much credit and is looking for a way to make a quick buck.
Now, there’s a two paths that you can take regarding dealing with this woman/business.
#1). Slap a Slander and Libel Lawsuit against her, crush her business, crush her family (perhaps she has children), crush (if any) her reputation and have her pay for this the rest of her life, or,
#2). Forgive her and move on. Take the money that you would have paid attorney’s, and do something special with it. Put it in a college fund for your son, or put a value on a “free” seminar and invite 25 people to your home or job site, or hotel and provide a training session.
I would even write her a letter that “forgives” her for what she’s done. That doesn’t mean that if she did it again that you wouldn’t crush her, but forgive her personally. It would be tough, but find it in your heart. It might be one of the hardest things to ever do.
This is an opportunity to teach your son about “wrongful accusation” and about “forgiveness” at the same time.
I’m not a religous person, but I’ve found great calmness in forgiveness.
Now, when the real time comes (which I believe this is notby all means), when it’s time to pull out the nukes, you can teach your son about how a “great offense always beats a great defense”.
I know this is a hard decision to make, but I really feel that you’ll have a better following and that you’ll gain more repsect!

Veronica, on the side of every strong man, is an even stronger woman, keep doing what you are doing and shake the hater’s off. It’s quite obvious Armando that you have a lot of haters out there digging ditches for people they ditches can’t even hold and these are the silly games they play. They are so ignorant to the fact and fail to realize the only people who end up in their ditches they dig for others are they them selves. I wonder how much PROFITS result from ditch digging because it seems to me this chick’s profits will be going towards her legal fees and other cost regarding this ditch digging issue. Ok, so here’s my two cents. Save your war chest for when you really need it. The judge spoke on your behalf. There are thousands of people who will prey on your fame including people like this lady.
It’s critical that you invest the money you would spend in legal fees in picking up new properties as they are cheap and you are the master.
Next goto the on the internet and post a response using her company name in the title. Now anyone who looks in Google for the rest of her career will read about the story which will cost her more money than she has to pay you and will only take you 10 minutes to write the report.
Save the legal fees and let the court of Google be your friend.

I am so glad to hear that your charges were dismissed! There is nothing on earth WORSE than being wrongly accused of something. My husband and I are going through a wrongful Felony charge right now in the courts and it is awful to think that one person has the potential to change your life by making a single accusation against you!

I am so sick of these underhanded people using the “law” to cost the rest of us and our courts time and money. This woman needs to be punished for what she has done. There is no excuse. You can always make back the revenue that you have lost because of this poor ignorant person, but the time she has cost you away from your son and the potential time she tried to cost you with your son is unexcusable. I hope you hire the best attoneys money can buy and show her how the “law” can work for those who do handle life in an honest manner and it can help put someone out of business that wants to handle matters the way she did. Our attoneys always tell us there is such a thing as “throwing good money at bad”. I also see where others are telling you about “forgiveness”. Great forgive her, but she needs to deal with what she has done. But for the fact that she had you falsely arrested 1. You would have never been arrested and taken to jail 2. Lost revenue 3. Spent money and time on attorneys clearing your name for something you had nothing to do with 4. Spent countless hours away from your family dealing with these crazy accusations. I totally agree, forgive her, but let her pay the price for the choices she has made. In the world today there is no accountability. This person needs to be help accountable for what she has chosen to do. It was her choice to handle this matter the way she did, now she can pay the price, which I hope is swift and stiff. Hopefully, she will learn something from this. The law is there for a reason. You are actually using the law in the correct manner for a misjustice that was brought upon you and your family. That is why we have laws, not for these people who only use the law to abuse others.

I agree with Matt M. I too have been through the wringer with a person who has defamed my character (except not on a national level and not in business). After all of the time and money spent on trying to get back what you think you’ve lost–You’ve fallen to their level and now are no better than them. I realized that my (8yr.old, now 10yr. old)boy was the one MOST affected BY ME! He could see and feel the heaviness of the situation from me. It was only when he commented about getting back at someone who challenged his character at school, that it hit me–forgiveness is the key. We need to teach our children how to protect themselves and their families –Yes I agree; However, we also need to teach them that humanity keeps us a step above. Once you let it go and realize that Karma will get this person anyway (which is what actually happened in my case only after forgiveness). You will live with a free conscience and light heart.

Thank you for responding to my idea. My buisness will be flipping houses. I am in the position that i can buy some homes for only $5,000 thats right own the home outright for five thousand dollars. Then to improve the house i will put about $20,000 into it. That means the house will have an actual total investment of $25,000 from the time i purchase the home until the time that i resell the home i will be able to accomplish this is a 45 day period for example if i was to buy the home on feb 1st i would have it resold april 15th. The home would be sold at a property auction with a starting bid of $75,000 that means not only would you the investor be guranteed your original $25,000 investment back but, you would also be guranteed to split the profits 50/50 with me meaning in 45 days you would be paid back the original $25,000 but also a profit share of $25,000 That means in 45 days you profit $25,000 meaning a profit of $555 dollars a day. Not bad huh? I didnt think so either. So now i know you are wondering what do i put into this you ask? Well let me answer it this way, i have the inside info on where to buy the homes as well as the contractors to do the work. I am also going to be doing the work on the site every day from sunrise to sunset till the job is completed. Thereby saving money on the overall project cost. As well as ensuring that the project is done properly. Do i hav experince in this you ask? Yes i do. I had a partner doing it with me. well, this is a delicate situation. i agree with forgiving and forgetting, but i aslo say that she should be taught a lesson. not trying to be mean here so hear me out. if you got the cash to throw away, i saw continue on with the slander lawsuit, have her taste that fear and have things run through head. and before there is a judgement in the case just drop the case and let her know you forgive her. what do you think? good luck and i know you will do the right thing regardless. its just an idea lol

Armondo, I feel for your situation as I have been there, but on a much smaller scale, as I dont have worldwide exposure or a T.V. show. But in my opinion if the problem has been resolved from a legal standpoint , let it be. As for friends , family, fans they will support you, this a situation that presents itself as a test. Stay the course of what you do, not what other people influence you to do, take the high road. Sometimes your reaction, or over reaction to a situation is exactly what they want from you. Yeah it sucks but you are in the public eye, you are a target, and you mentioned your concern was she wanted to take you away from your son, well every minute you spend on this either talking about it, blogging about or in meetings with attorneys its time away from Mondoman, and she still wins. Chalk it up to a life lesson and a 4k dollar lesson on how evil some people can be, learn from it and move on. Lifes too short too spend it getting revenge. Your lawyer told you to pay her? I’d get a new attorney. Paying her would be admitting you asked for her services. Putting the money in escrow, would have been a different story. Just to show you do have the money, you just want a verdict before forking over the money. You’re lucky she was an idiot and didn’t accept. You would have never got that money back. True, you could have slapped a lean on her business, but if she’s out trying to score a “quick” buck, she probably wasn’t that successful to begin with.
What I don’t get is where you said out of revenge. Revenge for what? Did you get the show she was hoping for? lol Or did she solicite her services to you? That I guess I could see. I used to live in Tyler, TX so I know how the women can be down there when turned away.
I surprised it was thrown out of court in Texas. You’re lucky you have a tv show and popularity. I’ve seen people get railroaded in Texas court systems over BS. Heck my sister in law got a theft charge when she got pulled over because the person she bought the car from, stole the tags. She hadn’t even had time to switch the title. She had to plea to a 15 month probation and 100 hours community service. She couldn’t afford a real attorney though, so there you go.
There is one thing you said though, I simply can’t believe. That is telling your fellow cellmates to “shut the F*&k up”. No way. Sorry, no sale on that one. You may have said, I don’t want to talk about it or such. I just don’t see people in jail, even the holding cell, letting you walk out with teeth saying that. Just saying.
I am glad you got justice, if what you say is true. The thing that got you off was the failed civil suit. Had she gone straight for the criminal charges, I don’t see a judge in Texas throwing it out. Unless she is known for having a wild imagination.

WOW. What’s interesting is I was once on the other end of a similarly ridiculous circumstance. I used to work collections for a large company… but my branch was in a small town run by small town politics. So small that I even had to repo one of the 3.. yes.. 3 TOTAL.. local cops. And one of the imbeciles friends. I repoed for NONPAYMENT but for some reason, these small minded, small town folks took it personally. The 2 of them got together and swore out a warrant for my arrest. The charge was “telephone harassment” Did I call them? Yes. It was my job. Did I call them repeatedly, and daily? Yes. Again, it was my job. FDCPA states that this is legal between the hours of 8am-9pm, so I was not breaking the law. Nonetheless, the warrant was issued and I spent 12 hours sitting in jail with filthy criminals. One woman in there with me tried discussing her charges of something to do with her kids getting molested.. with me and I told her GO SIT NEXT TO SOMEONE ELSE! So I feel ya Armando. I had NOTHING in common with the scum sitting in there either. ULTIMATELY my charges were dismissed as well. If either of the 2 responsible had so much as a pot to piss in, I would have sued too! Sadly, there was nothing for me to sue for. I say NAIL HER HARD and then call the Enquirer, People magazine… whoever and make your next victory public as a warning to those who would use our justice system for their own agendas. I think that there are not enough people in America who will stand up for themselves and stand up for what’s right and stand against what’s wrong. Call me if you need any help! LOL

I remember that someone once said that if there weren’t people out there trying to get you, you wouldn’t be that famous! I don’t remember who it was, it may even have been you… LOL! The point is that it’s because of your fame that these slanderous people target you. I’m sure she’s not the first and certainly won’t be the last!
I have to agree with Matt on this, the time, effort and money you spend on taking action against this woman takes you away from time well spent with family, friends and the positive things you do for people. So you crush her, will that make you feel better in the end? Knowing the kind of man you are seriously makes me doubt it. She could have a family she supports as well, these innocent parties will also be casualties in this battle. Did you consider that in your decision?
The best thing you can do is forgive her, bless her and then release her. This will give you your power back. She will get her justice served when the time is right. I’ve been hurt by people, as I’m sure we ALL have, the best thing I ever did was forgive them, bless them and release them and then forgive myself for NOT doing it sooner! The bible says, “No evil formed against me shall prosper.” As you can see that was the case with this woman’s bogus charges. This will also be the case with other bogus claims that come against you because of your fame. You just have to rise above it and set the best example to your adorable son who means the world to you and looks up to you as his hero and role model.

I understand why you might want to strike back at this woman for trying to steal your freedom based on a false accusation to collect an unwarranted debt.
But I can tell you that in the long run, seeking legal retribution for this offense will not change what she did. The best way to go about this might be to simply take out an ad in the Austin paper and simply excoriate her in print — perhaps with some help from your attorney to avoid any accusation of libel.
This incident has already cost you time and money. But I doubt those who know you from your show or from your good works helping others as a problem-solving investor and friend, has in any way shaken the goodwill you’ve steadfastly built and earned.
Bringing a slander or libel case against this woman will never change what she did. You were always in the right, and you knew you were. That’s why you invited the police into your house, and that is why you never lost a night’s sleep over this.
And I know this was less frightening than being in debt and wondering how you were going to get out of it.
You are already a role model for many. Revenge doesn’t sell well. Make your case and make your peace, and move on.
Think about it this way: this woman gave you a great story to tell and how you deal with folks who try to hurt you but can’t when your surrounded by the truth and people who care about, trust and love you.

Armando, I can just imagine the awful things you’ve just endured in being arrested, handcuffed and taken off to jail, especially since you were innocent of the charges. I hope your son did not see all this.
If you really want to pursue this case against the woman who wronged you, it will run you thousands of dollars in attorney fees, you’ll have to take time off from working to give a deposition that might last 2-3 days, then more time lost to testify in court, etc. If the attorneys find you have a few bucks, they simply increase their client fee and you wind up paying thousands of dollars, all the while questioning the bill, “why so much?” These small problems may even fester and become mountains over which you will worry. It’s just not worth it.
Let me tell you something, Rev. John Hagee in San Antonio just preached a sermon on this very thing. If you want total peace and happiness, forgive this stupid woman, dismiss her from your mind. Don’t let her occupy one bit of your mind’s peace. If you don’t she will hold you captive and become the victor. I guarantee what goes around comes around. If she has wronged you, you won’t have to lift a finger against her because it will all come back to her in some form without you having to do a single thing. It may be a loss of her business, her friends, ill health, accident, etc. and I guarantee you will learn of her demise. You name it, it can happen because I’ve seen it happen time and time again since I’ve been on this earth. Whenever someone does wrong to you it always comes back on them - its called “The unwritten law of retribution.”
The monetary reward may be tempting, true, but all the time wasted on this can never be recovered. Aren’t you better off being happy with your lovely wife and son than doing battle in a courtroom? Think about it carefully before you decide. I know you will do the right thing as you are a fair and honest man.
You’ve been exonerated in the press and in the courtroom, so I suggest you let go of it and go on with your life. You have too much to accomplish to bother with such inconsequential silliness.

I’m only 24 and trying like hell to follow your footsteps. Hold a real estate license, but as you know unless your Mrs.Montelongo chances are you’re not going to make that much money. I mean whats five or six grand a week. Nothing. Tough getting the bank to loan as much money as I need to get started, but I’m trying like hell. Work 7 days a week, 100 hrs per week trying to build credit and build a starting capitol. Keep doing what your doing brother, as it is correct. Learn alot from your show by the way.I’m hoping that if I start buying and flipping houses on a full time basis that success and money will bring me a wife as hot as yours :).

As a Christian, I have to say that “TWO WRONGS DON’T MAKE A RIGHT”. I know that you want to make that woman pay. That is your basic human instinct. But, the bible says “TURN THE OTHER CHEEK”, “LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF”, “DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE OTHERS DO UNTO YOU”, etc. I know this is hard. I would want to do the same thing that you are doing. The bible also says that “The Lord is my vendicator”. We are suppose to let the Lord take care of the wrong that is done to us. I’m not a preacher or a religious fanatic. But, I do know that you have a truly blessed life. Why would you want to ruin that by bringing stife and disaccord into it? Think about how much energy you are going to be using on something that is not even productive.
I do think that you should require the papers to print a retraction or at least give that same amount of space to your aquital. But, leave the vendication to The Master. He loves you and wants to take care of you. Just think about it.

Congrats on beating the case. I realize that when you try to do things the right way it infuriates you that much more when people purposely choose to do things the wrong way.
That being said, please realize that you don’t have to answer for this woman. You’re responsibility is to your family, business partners, and students. You have given us your story and cleared your name. Now, your students have to decide how to view you and it is their issue, not yours. You did what you had to do.
As for this woman, you legally have the right to go after her and press charges to the fullest extent. However, I must ask you to consider what good would it really do? I’m not telling you to do it or not do it, that is something that only you can decide.
What I am saying is that you beat this…do you really want to give this woman another minute of your time, energy, or consideration? Or would you and your family be better off for putting that passion into your business and going that much further to show yourself as a man of integrity?
If there is some legalities that put you at any risk, by all means handle your business. But if it is just for spite or revenge…just think about it long and hard before you act.

First off CONGRATS to you all! Secondly, I agree 100% with you. As a business owner myself in San Antonio, we come into contact with many types of people. But, I have a rule, you want to cause trouble with me, go for it, but, do not do it to my family or at their expense. They are the innocent ones. That’s when my gloves come off and I will make you pay for your actions.
I am a fan of your show, not a student, but, when we first heard of these alleged charges, I just said to my husband, it’s b.s. and he has a jealous encounter on his hands. She will have her day, not just by you, but, by any future business she thinks she can do or have. She has ruined herself pretty much. I just hope she sees it and realizes, that’s it’s not worth causing trouble.
I feel for your son, I pray that he didn’t see the police handcuff you,etc. Then, that would be major war for me.

As I told you back in 2007, I got your back! Remember, I went “to bat” for you several times on the blog with the haters, and I still got your back, because I knew and still know that you are a honest, firm business person. It seems that the more successful one becomes, the more others who envy the success try to steal the joy that you have. I agree with your decision to file suit against her for slander as it did have an impact against new potential students and investors. This is one of the learning curves of life, I too was in jail for threatening my ex and was shocked at the conditions of th ecell etc. no toilet paper etc. hey I met a few good people (ok would not invite thme to dinner) but I htink someitmes people get a bad turn, like you did but lucky you found the bonus in realistate!

I live in Austin and, in fact, I work for an attorney in downtown Austin. We would hear the scuttlebutt about your case and I wondered, “Man, did he really do that?” But then, I started researching and I asked around and I knew the charges would be dropped. Unfortunately, you learned a very hard lesson: It’s not what you know, it’s WHO you know. She used the criminal justice system to bribe you, especially when she couldn’t find a civil attorney to take her case.
If I were in your shoes, would I go after this woman? I’m not sure of that. It’s true about karma: What goes around comes around. I’ll leave you with this story: I worked for Judge Edward G. Aparicio as a court reporter back in 1996-2000. He made my life a living hell and I quit working for him. It seems he didn’t want me working on transcripts on court time, but I could babysit his kids on court time. Eventually, he was investigated by the FBI for fraud, racketeering, bribery, mail fraud, etc. He worked out a plea deal with the Feds, but he would have to name the names of the attorneys who paid him bribes. Instead, he shot himself.

If you then you know that the bible says to turn the other cheek, while it also says an eye for eye. Do you really believe that this form of retaliation is what you wnat to teach your son or would you rather teach him to be honest and strong and always to do the right things and to do them for the right teasons not for revenge. Remember revenge is mine sayeth the Lord. It is you business to do as you see fit I just wanted you to think about the revenge you are seeking when you can show you character to everyone in the world by doing what is right, and contuing to help the people you are and the futre ones you will. Armando; Although I agree with you that what this woman did was deplorable and she has no excuse, I dont think you should chase after her to get revenge. The time and energy you and a legal team would spend on this is far more than you would recover from her. My grandma always said “you can’t get blood out of a turnip”. If this woman tried to falsely charge you, she must be desperate for money. The best way to get revenge is to live well. If you are able to purge her stupid acts from your own mental system, you will be a man ten times more powerful than she will be and that many other men are. I am NO friend of liars and cheaters, but I will say that in this womans own stupidity , she has provided you with publicity. Any publicity is better than none at all. I agree that the experience was humiliating, but dragging her thru the “mud” only brings you down to her level. What message do you want to give your son, that you had a bigger gun and was able to crush this women. No, You have a parental responsibility, not to mention an audience of people who admire your business ethics. I believe that if you pray about this situation and give it to the Lord, the battle is no longer yours and you will prevail. Save the temper for the cameras. I am a Real Estate Agent, and must consistently take continuing education to maintain my state license (ethics, fair housing, etc.) I must also carry errors and omissions insurance, in case of a law suit from a client. Unfortunately in this business not everyone maintains the same ethics or level of service that you would expect from professionals. It is sad that in this difficult market, that professionals are not trying to work together, but are actually trying to take others down. You need to pursue this matter to the fullest extent of the law. If she can go after someone with a great reputation and celebrity, imagine what she could do to the average joe? When it comes to someone messing with your family, you have to be ruthless. She gave you no choice. Good luck with this situation, and keep us posted.

I think you should go after her and all of the people involved. Why? Because court is a rich man’s playground. These people came after you. Forgivness is why people keep filing frivolous police reports. If everyone would standup for themselves, as you do, then it might stop. You have the affordability to get her, and protect your honor, you should do so. Make them pay and contact every reporter who wrote articles and demand they publish her demise. You might even consider going after them since they didn’t research her story.
I was wrongfully accused and didn’t have the means or affordability. Charges were dropped etc., I’ve never regained the respect I once had in my community. I also have a wonderful wife and children who weathered the storm.

something like this happen to me too. I prayed I wanted to go the legal route. But I thought about my family, of how long this would take and time from my family and friends and business. I asked my friends and family to pray because I had not done nothing wrong. to make this short all of the people that were involved with this have called me or come to me and asked me to except an appoly and of course I excepted. they are suffering and struggeling to make end meat. but that not what I wanted. I too, was falsely accused, had to post bond, spent almost 6 hours in jail, plus the aggravation of having my face plastered on TV, can you believe, plus write-up in newspapers!!! I was just aggravated as h#+*! THEN, on top of all that, she pullued a no-show on our Court Date. Case thrown out! TV and newspapers would not do a retraction, NOT NEWS WORTHY! But I forgot to mention you had that cutting edge of proffessionalism that took people’s breath away. Both work hand in hand. Give your troubles to God. It’s his fight, dont need to do anything. I know you havent missed that part in doing it but like you know, first use the power of forgiveness for you and your situation to pan out better than how it would be without doing that, then ask God to give you a clean heart and new spirit. Whatever you do legally if your legal advisors are in the will of God, you will do it with a clean heart and not a vengeful heart. I wish I had of had your attorney in my B.S. Law suit. I owner financed a my home to a couple who decided four years later they needed some money and burned me bad. They had a lying lawyer who tried to rewrite law and actually got away with most of his lies simply because I could not afford an attorney. He even had me fraudulently locked up the night before they tried to sell my disabled home stead exempt property. I hope you burn those crooks especially if she was guided by an attorney. Please think hard about your decision to file suit against this person. The decisions you make now will have an enormous impact on your family. The legal system is not always kind and some law suits take years. These are years you will never get back with your son and wife.
I agree with Richard, Pray about it first before you decide, if you haven’t already. I wish you and your family many happy years together. Enjoy your son while he is still young. They grow up too quickly. I should know, I am the mother of two sons, both grown up and on their own. I miss them being little and leaving their toys all around the house.

I am a big fan of yours and would like to congratulate you on this outcome. People try to bring us down when they see us happy. Just be thankful that this is behind you and your family. I have a 11 year old son and I am the same, I would be extremely vengeful if someone did something that could possibly tear my family apart.From experience, my dad was killed by a drunk driver in Denver while working and I had access to his killer for 16 months. Seeing her on a daily basis made me realize that any quick moves would jeopordize my family. I am a 59 year old African-American male who is having one “he_ _” of a time trying to get into the Real Estate business, but I cannot because of my “Jessie James Credit” to mostly no fault of my own, these things just happen, it is a fact of life. I live in an area of the country where they say “If you’re White you’re alright,but if you’re Black jump back jack”(smile),(Oklahoma City,OK). There are a lot of Blacks here in this city and state who are capable of achieving their goals but we just get shot down, and its not by just Whites,(I’m not bashing Whites) its our own families and friends. I doubt you would be so stupid and meatheaded as to not pay a 4,000 bill that you owed. Forgiveness is huge, but so is justice. At the least, make her issue a public apology. If you are telling the truth, at least make her publicly apologize to your wife and son. Sometimes life teaches us to have compassion for the wicked, and then cold, hard logic teaches us to step on the neck of a snake. I’m glad you were able to beat the charges. You should press charges on her for filing a false police report. Also, you should have her frieds in the legal system investigated on corruption charges. As a Police Officer in California, I know you have many ways to seek “compensation” (revenge)legaly.

I loved what I did, but in the back of my mind I always knew I wanted to do residential jobs. What kind of advice could you give someone like me, who doesn’t have the money, but wants to get into the business?

She is not even worth it. Take that money that you spend on attorneys and take a well deserved vacation with your family. THEY ARE WORTH IT! (PRICELESS). If they case is not sealed just mention her name and the court case can be public. As long as you make money there will be individuals out there waiting to bring you down. The best way to get to them is to make more money. Who cares what your enemies think, the only thing you need to do, is to continue your success and benefit from the rewards.

While I understand how you feel because I had someone that slandered my name, destroyed my credit, stole my last dime and left me homeless and jobless with a child, leaving me to live on the streets, something I have still have not recovered from and never will. The greatest day was the day I forgave this person it took the hate away and set me free we are no longer joined through revenge, and while I will never forget I can say they own no part of my thoughts which was the greatest gift of all. You have more than most have ever been blessed with, take a deep breath kiss your loving wife and enjoy those healthy kids.

I just viewed you on TV a short while ago and likewise checked out your blog online. Although it was not a pleasant experience, surely there were many lessons to be learned on both sides.
Armando, do you really feel that you are above others who have made errant judgements in their lives…perhaps this is your reason for saying you are not a criminal?
Is it really worth the time, energy and money to go after someone, who apparently has a dis-connection with reality and humanity, that falsely accused you? Think my friend, that’s more time, energy and money away from Mondoman. Who really will win in this matter? Ego, Media, Jurisdictions???
Lastly, prior to the demolitions of some of your rehabs, have you considered salvaging cabinets, doors, fixtures and the like for donation to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity?

It may teach a lesson but consider this….What I would do is threaten the legal action but instead seek a public statement retracting the charges and an admittance of your innocence from the woman responsible. What good will it do you? I do believe that people do the things they do when they envy you. I know exactly how you feel, my own brother did something similar to me not oance but four times and my case was dismissed every time. But you know, I ran across him last October “(it’s been three years that we have talked to each other)” he fell of his motercylce, of all the people and friends that surounded him I was the one that got out the van and picked his bike up,made sure he was ok, without exchanging to many words to each other and walked away. We later ran across each other at church again. Brother let me tell you, he walked up to me,shook my hand, thanked me with a hug, said he was sorry cried and went on his way. Armando, I felt like I had so much power within myself after that moment.But anyways, im not tring to right a book here, handle your buisness and let her know who shes f*#%ing with.But also follow your heart, we tend to do bad things when were outraged. Take it e-z and look forward to attending the work shop in Houston.
